Reactive light installation

Powerplant_splash_9
An unreal bastard between nature and technology has struck roots in a dark corridor.

DEADLINE: OCT 2005  |  PARTNERS: OLE PRINDS

The installation tells a fictive story in which a lamp is in symbiosis with it's environment. People passing through the corridor must open a door thereby causing sunlight to flow in. The lamp feeds on particles from the sunlight and in return lights up the corridor.

The installation was conceptualised and build during my studies in "lighting for public spaces" at Kolding School of Design. It was kept functional for two weeks in the corridor leading to the cantina for the enjoyment of passing students.

The project was realised using Processing and Wiring.
